The Rubber Tree, also known as a Ficus Elastica Robusta, has thick shiny dark green leaves. Native to South Asia and Southeast Asia, the plant comes from the Moraceae family. In nature, it can grow to heights of 30-45 feet and can spread up to 30 feet. Living indoors they usually grow to be about 6-10 feet tall. Their striking lush rubbery leaves make them a wonderful statement plant for every home.
Sunlight
Thrives in bright indirect light. Can benefit from a few hours of direct sun. Rotate often to help ensure even growth. Make sure to keep the large leaves clean of dust and dirt, so it can soak up all those glorious sun rays!
Water
Water every 1-2 weeks, allowing soil to dry out between waterings. These plants are susceptible to root rot, so aim for moist, but never soggy soil. When watering make sure to water thoroughly, so water is freely coming out the bottom of the pot.
